de engineering gmbh was founded in 2012 by Lothar Dauer and Guido Endres in the Rhine-Main area and has since established itself as a reliable partner for technical developments on the market throughout Germany. At the beginning of 2025, Markus Zimmermann and Simone Dörich took over the management of the company – two long-standing members of the team who have made a significant contribution to the company’s success.

As a medium-sized company, we are characterized by flat hierarchies, fast decision-making processes and a transparent and open way of working and communicating.

As a nationwide development service provider, we support our customers in various areas of industry, particularly in the automotive sector, in mechanical and plant engineering and in electrical and energy technology.

Within the scope of international projects, our expertise ranges from project management and concept development to practical implementation.

Our projects always take us to where our customers are driving their developments forward. This proximity enables us to act flexibly and react quickly to realize the best possible solutions for our partners.

My Journey: From Design Engineer to Leader…

My professional career began as a design engineer in the automotive industry, specializing in fuel tank and engine cooling systems. I quickly took on responsibility, leading a project team in development.

With a change of employer within the engineering services sector, my leadership responsibilities significantly expanded, culminating in the management of a branch office. At the same time, supporting existing clients and acquiring new ones became a constant part of my role.

In 2017, I decided to join de engineering and return to my valued former colleagues.

I have always found it exciting to work in different areas of companies and across various industries such as retail, wholesale, industry, and, most recently, engineering for several years.

Many of the professional activities from my early days – and even later – no longer exist today. Had I clung to a false sense of security and lacked the courage for change, I’m not sure where I would be now.

My connection to today’s de engineering GmbH and Mr. Lothar Dauer dates back to 1984, when I was his trainer. In the years that followed, up until the end of 2013, we had only occasional contact, were competitors, but always knew what the other was doing.

In 2013, this long-standing relationship led to my first visit to de engineering GmbH. I wanted to find out how the two had developed since founding their company. Our conversations, the many commonalities, and our shared values motivated me to support the company during its growth phase. I wanted to challenge myself once again and contribute to its success with my extensive network in the automotive sector.

Today, we are a strong sales team where it doesn’t matter who was once a trainer, apprentice, or boss – what counts is success.
